Alan & Pat Dodd

Alan – After completing my third life (not reincarnated),  I retired in the summer of 2008 from the public school system in Portales, NM.  My last career as a guidance counselor was largely spent trying to convince kids not to follow in my footsteps (I was a high school drop-out) and complete school.  Our family started out in Albuquerque and ended up in Portales where we came for graduate school in 1979.  The place grew on us and we ended up finding a permanent home here.  Retirement has so far been wonderful and will allow, in the midst of many other items, the time for working on this project which for me, since I am not “compliterate”, is a considerable task.

Pat – I also retired in June of 2008 after 25+ years at Eastern New Mexico University working in various departments.  I am thoroughly enjoying retirement and catching up around the house.  I have just completed putting all of our 40+ years of photos into albums (you know from boxes that they had been stuffed in).  I am now working on a family history book with lots of pictures, articles, and family trees of my parents, grandparents, great grandparents and great, great grandparents.  Hopefully that will be finished soon and then who knows what I will do next.  There might be an interesting old family post in the near future.  It’s great to have the time to do something I want to do instead of going to work everyday.  I never knew “advanced age” could be so much fun.
