It Is No Secret

Well, we met this morning. Our irregular World Changers group showed up, which as of late has been a rarity. In all this time we have only lost one of the original members to relocation, and while other “members” come and go nothing is quite as special as our founding hombres. For some reason the last year has been unsettled in the sense of schedules, activities and health that affect attendance. However, I don’t think any one of us, being available and able, decides simply not to come, at least not I.

Obama’s Character Profile: Mind, Courage, Heart

The portrayal of Dorothy’s friends in “The Wizard of Oz” is a fairly accurate picture of basic human nature. Most people with a normal dose of self-awareness recognize their strengths and weaknesses summed up in the needs of Scarecrow, Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion. Even though these characters represent only three general headings, each one is critical, with a breakdown representing many if not all personality traits covering our behavior including perhaps unconscious motivations as well. Not many people are lacking in every category.

Unconditional Love

The definition of “unconditional” is generally that which is without conditions or limitations and is used commonly as “unconditional surrender” (in war), and “unconditional support” (as in foreign policy). I can’t recall a time when the term “unconditional love” came into usage; seems like it’s always been around.

Don’t Grow Weary

Sometimes I think everyone is allotted a certain amount of intangible stuff per day, and if they run out before the day is over no telling what will happen. Being an early riser and having stated at times that I might have gotten five or six hours of sleep, I’ve been asked on occasion, “Why don’t you sleep longer”? My answer has always been that when I run out of sleep I might as well get up. I used up my allotment for the day.

ISIS and Progressives: First Cousins

Crazy people (ISIS et al.) and diabolical atheists (Progressives) defy total understanding except for those who know that the cosmic battle between good and evil is really being played out. Sometimes it is difficult to distinguish between the two, that is, crazy people and atheists. There are many parallels between the two that raises suspicion about which is worse. They may not be kissin’ cousins, but they are definitely related.
