Unconditional Love

The definition of “unconditional” is generally that which is without conditions or limitations and is used commonly as “unconditional surrender” (in war), and “unconditional support” (as in foreign policy). I can’t recall a time when the term “unconditional love” came into usage; seems like it’s always been around.

Don’t Grow Weary

Sometimes I think everyone is allotted a certain amount of intangible stuff per day, and if they run out before the day is over no telling what will happen. Being an early riser and having stated at times that I might have gotten five or six hours of sleep, I’ve been asked on occasion, “Why don’t you sleep longer”? My answer has always been that when I run out of sleep I might as well get up. I used up my allotment for the day.

Mm, Mm, Good!

No, this is not a commercial for Campbell’s Soup. Have you ever had something to eat that was so good you couldn’t get enough of it, or eat it fast enough? An adult friend while eating ice cream with topping exclaimed in a delightful childish manner, “I like this… a lot!” I remember as a kid getting a rare all-day sucker and liking it “A lot!” So much so, in fact, that I finally chewed it up in a lot less time than a day. I have gained more impulse control, though, and now could probably lick it until gone.

The Bates Motel

In earlier years of travel, our family was thankful that the light was left on for us at the only motel we could afford. There was no continental or complimentary breakfast, and as far as we knew such a thing didn’t exist elsewhere.

Space Aliens In Our Midst?

Living near Roswell, New Mexico, we have had the privilege of traveling there with guests to visit the Alien Museum. I remember the first time going through the museum I came out a believer (since God can create anything He wants). While the story seems implausible (why Roswell and not D.C.), some of it, especially testimony from those present at the time, sort of makes you wonder. By the time I’m driving back home though, I’m thinking, “Nah, I don’t think so!”
