Space Aliens In Our Midst?

Living near Roswell, New Mexico, we have had the privilege of traveling there with guests to visit the Alien Museum. I remember the first time going through the museum I came out a believer (since God can create anything He wants). While the story seems implausible (why Roswell and not D.C.), some of it, especially testimony from those present at the time, sort of makes you wonder. By the time I’m driving back home though, I’m thinking, “Nah, I don’t think so!”

Then I’m back there again with others and I believe all over again, that is, until I’m on the way home. Now, the last time we went I guess the magic was gone because going through, one more time, it looked pretty ratty (maintenance problem) and it felt like a sideshow at the carnival. Plus our company was not impressed, so for the first time I left not believing any more. Roswell Aliens and the tooth fairy were finished. I do miss the tooth fairy.

I guessed wrong on the latest Trivia question about which of several former presidents had seen a UFO. I guessed Bill Clinton since UFO could have been Unidentified Female Object. The answer was Jimmy Carter. He commented that he doesn’t laugh any more at those who report seeing one since he saw one himself. There have been many reports of seeing strange things in the sky by those other than abductees. However, if these extraterrestrial folks were smart enough to make the trip, you’d think they would stop in and say howdy.

Surely everyone knew that all of this was logically leading to the subject of terrorism. Yes, the kind going on in our world today that shocks the sensitivities of just about everyone even if you’re not quite normal. Many around the world wake up almost daily thinking it can’t get worse, but yet it seems to. Executions and beheadings of hostages are frequent bragging videos released by Isis. It’s not that such psychotic behavior is new, after all “there is nothing new under the sun”, it’s just that we would like to believe that “modern” civilizations have given it up.

Recently a CNN co-anchor was reporting on another of the endless videos where Isis showed a young boy purportedly executing two Russian hostages with a handgun. The reporter was visibly shaken after showing the video and made the comment that this is “really troubling for anyone that has a heart.” Now that comment raises a good question. How can these barbarians continue to commit these atrocities let alone enlist children to carry out their demonic plans? Don’t any of them “have a heart?”

As terrible as those scenes are, what if videos were made chronicling an abortion? Showing in detail the dismembering of the baby in the womb and ripping out body parts. How about a botched abortion that leaves the baby lying on the table fighting for the life intentionally being extinguished. Our president, then a senator, voted with a majority at the time to withhold any life giving measures to save the life of such a botched murder. So when that situation arises, no one can render aid as the baby struggles to breath with the damaged body finally succumbing to death, maybe as long as an hour later. Is there really any difference between the “hearts” of the two groups of killers?

Most of us have viewed programs where the mysteries of ancient edifices from the Mayan civilization to the pyramids of Egypt have seriously speculated that perhaps aliens from outer space must have visited and given engineering workshops. Even some evolutionists, lacking credible evidence of life suddenly springing from the primordial soup, have conjectured that something or someone from outer space may have begun the whole thing. I’m waiting for someone to claim that Isis (they won’t include abortionists) may be made up of “Space Aliens” who in fact have no “hearts.”

In spite of all this behavioral evidence, humanists/atheists/progressives continue to proclaim that man is basically good in spite of the obvious. To admit differently would cause them a monumental problem of not having a solution. God forbid they would have to consider the idea of original sin. So despite the evidence, the baby killers, Hemlock Society, up-coming death panels, and other death dealers share the same heart as the honest Afghan Jihadist who proclaimed, “Americans love Pepsi-Cola, we love death.”

Not so surprisingly, in our fallen, sinful nature, we are capable of such heinous behavior. According to God, “The heart is deceitful above all things…who can understand it” (Jer. 17:9)? Such people, as with the terrorists, can devolve into indulging in “every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more” (Eph. 4:18). Their blood lust knows no boundary as they are being “hated and hating one another” (Titus 3:3), all the while going from “bad to worse” (2 Tim. 3:13). The worse state is to be given over “to a depraved mind” (Rom. 1:28) able to perform “every kind of wickedness…” (v. 29). Those who love God, love life, but all who hate God, love death (Prov. 8:36b).

But there is great hope, even for “Space Aliens.” There is neither darkened heart nor hate filled soul that is beyond the reach of Christ Jesus. After enumerating sins of the “wicked,” as Paul identifies them, who “will not inherit the kingdom of heaven,” he makes the incredible statement, “And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God” (I Cor. 6:9-11). And that my friend, is the Good News. Praise God!
